This a beautiful piece of poetry and pays homage to the great trailblazers of our past generations, and the new ones yet to come. In recognition of just how far we have come as a nation, but lest we forget, just how much more we need to go as a people. The accomplishment of Barack Obama has set yet another high watermark in our rich history as a people. We must continue the fight to achieve peace among our race and other races. White/Asian/Brown/Gay/Straight brothers & sister have shown us they too see that “Hope” can come in many forms and colors. So brothers and sisters take heed and lay down those crystallized rock & crack pipes you peddle to your brothers & sisters black and white, lay down your pistol you’ve use to kill you fellow kindred, pull up your pants & pull down you skirts, go back to your sons & daughters and take up your responsibility & rightful mantle for what’s your, pick up those books and achieve. Open your minds to the new possibilities. For God has given us all a great gift in our lifetime to try yet once again. Don’t blow it! Reach beyond the new watermark and soar…
