{worst mantra ever} "don't blow it" rather than "go for it"! and let me tell u why.... it's bcuz the "don't blow it" mentality makes u a slave to your profession by embracing fear instead of your what you are there to offer! i put more of the blame on the company and/or person in charge, rather than the person working. reason being, it is the employer's job to know that embracing change, autonomy & diversity promotes smart employees who enjoy their jobs!
